Our
thanks to the families who have donated to this year’s Dollar-A-Day campaign.
The goal this year is to raise $20,000 by Halloween so we can eliminate
the mid-year fundraiser – watch your email
for an update this weekend! As a direct donation campaign, this is a great
opportunity for your family, friends and neighbors to maximize their
contributions to your child’s education - every little bit helps!. Don’t delay
– donate to Dollar-A-Day! Donations of any amount can be made at school or by
clicking here. All donations
are tax deductive and every single dollar goes directly to Southmoor to
benefits our kids.

Community Night at Slices
This month’s community night is generously being hosted by Slices Pizza! 25% of all orders for both carry out and dine in on Tuesday, October 16th, will be donated back to Southmoor. So grab a bite of dinner (or lunch), support a local business who regularly supports us and spend some time with others in the Southmoor Community. Hope to see you there!

Dues
PTO
dues are $15 a year per family. These funds cover the managerial costs of
PTO and allow all donations received
during
the year to go toward teacher grants, staffing needs, and much more in our
school. Make checks payable to Southmoor
Elementary School and please note “PTO dues.”

The turnout was fabulous, the weather held, we raised over $10,000 for teacher grants and most importantly, a good time was had by all, especially Brayden Clark and Jaymee Peterson who won the Broncos tickets!

Club
The
morning running club attendance continues to amaze me. The track is
packed with joggers.
Thanks
to Southmoor parent, Melissa Trujillo, we had a great “golden ticket” event,
last Friday.
Students
who were lucky enough to pick a yellow popsicle stick, received a special
prize.
There
definitely was a noticeable faster pace of movement, in order to get more
opportunities to pick a stick.
Thriller
Time
All
students have begun learning the Thriller dance. We will perform it at
the conclusion of the Halloween parade, on the blacktop.
It’s
going to be awesome! Hope to see you on the 31st.
Appropriate
Footwear
As
winter approaches, please send your child to school every day
with shoes appropriate for safe and efficient movement on the playground and in
the gym.
It
is common for students who incur injuries to be wearing inappropriate footwear,
especially snow boots.

participating in band are expected to eat breakfast before they arrive to
school or after band rehearsal.
