the CSC wants to make sure we understand
our community's desires so we can advocate accordingly.

Physical Wellness News
100-Mile Club Update
Students have amassed more than 2000, healthy body and mind,
miles and we have our first 100-mile jogger and, thus, first gold medal recipient!
Fourth grader, Isaac Jaquette reached the plateau last week.
Isaac, by far, is ahead of the norm, but I expect many more students to
achieve gold medal status in the coming months.
If your student hasn't received their 25-mile
t-shirt, perhaps a little loving "nudge" is in order?
Track Renewal
Denver Public School Grounds Department has approved
a community workday on
Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 8:30AM-12:30PM to
revitalize the Southmoor Elementary school track on the upper field.
The school must match the efforts of DPS by pledging
at least 30 adult volunteers to this project. All tools and materials will
be provided and the grounds department will be present to assist.
We will be laying and packing down the material for a new track.
All ground preparation for the track will be completed prior by
the students at Southmoor and the grounds department.

library November 8th-11th for the Scholastic Book Fair
8:15am-10:15am & 3-5pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The fair will be open all day on Wednesday 8:15am-5pm.
If you can't make it in person you can still shop our book fair
online at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/southmoor.
The online shop will be open to students and their families from the 5th-18th.
Think ahead to your holiday shopping! There is no shipping fee and these
orders will be delivered directly to school. If you need to make special
arrangements so your student doesn't see these orders
please contact Jillian Krause at Jillian.krause@gmail.com and we can arrange a special pick up.
