From the Principal’s Desk

Winter is here and so are winter colds and other illnesses. We do not want children to miss school.

Neither do we want our families sending a sick child to school to expose others to possible illness.

Due to the increase in influenza cases in the school district, Denver Public Health has recommended

that school leaders send a letter to all DPS families about the flu. Public health officials have shared

there is a significant increase in reported cases this year.

I am providing a letter from DPS Nursing & Student Health Services in English and Spanish 

I’m hopeful This valuable information will help you and your family navigate through flu season.

Speed Stacks Sales

Stocking Stuffer?  Hanukah Gift?

I’ve had many students inquire about where they can purchase Speed Stacks.  Speed Stacking, or cup stacking, is an activity that besides being fun, assists in developing ambidexterity, incorporating both sides of the brain, concentration and perseverance.

Your child can give you a full description about it or go to Speedstacks.com for detailed information.

 I have acquired thirty sets of cups and eight timing mats for purchase.

The sets of Speed stacks and the timing mats are $20 each. 

I have a variety of colors available on a first come, first serve basis.  Make checks payable to Southmoor. 

If it’s a Holiday gift, birthday present, or another type of surprise, you can email me or stop by school.

Please have three color choices in mind.

Information was included in last week’s Thursday folder.  I’m not selling the mini speed stacks.
