years’ thanksgiving lunch will be held on Wednesday November 14th.
A flyer
has been sent home today in Thursday folders with the schedule as well as order
form if you wish to purchase a thanksgiving meal.
Please
turn in all forms to the main office by November 9th.

Student
Council will have a Wig Wednesday or Crazy Hair Day on Wednesday, November
14th.
Kids
will be asked to bring a can of food to participate. The food will be donated
to the Jewish Family Services Food Bank by Target.
-November CSC Meeting
Anyone is welcome!! Please join the
Southmoor Elementary CSC (Collaborative School Committee) and Sarina Compoz on
Wednesday, 11/7, 5pm-6:30pm,
as we discuss important school business.
Agenda items to include - School Budget,
SPF (School Performance Framework), Innovation status and PBIS (Positive
Behavior Interventions and Supports).

-Dollar-a-Day Update
Thank you again to all who have donated to this year’s Dollar-A-Day campaign...as of this morning a total of $15,814 has been donated. Impressive, but short of our $20K goal.

So, we’re
going to make one final push and extend the donation window another week. If
you didn’t donate, here’s another chance to support our Teacher Grant program.
Every
dollar counts, so donate what you can and please, ask your family, your
friends, your neighbors, your co-workers...you’ll be amazed how many people are
willing to help our great school.

explain how tech time impacts kids’ development through detailed and funny
anecdotes.
The movie also offers solutions on how
adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find
balance.
All parents and kids are welcome, but
recommended for those in 3rd+ grades.

Band Schedule Fall 2018
Rehearsals are 8:25 – 9:10 in the music room (111)
*Students participating in band are expected to eat breakfast before
they arrive to school or after band rehearsal.
Monday – Flutes
Tuesday – Clarinets and Saxophones
Wednesday – Brass (trumpet, trombone, baritone, French Horn)
Thursday – Percussion (drums and aux.)
Fridays – Alternate Beginning and Advanced Band as follows:
Advanced Band
Nov. 2, 16, Nov. 30, Dec. 5, and Dec. 6 combined rehearsal
(both beginning and advanced bands on stage.)
Beginning Band
Nov. 9, Nov. 30, Dec. 5 and Dec. 6, combined rehearsal (both
beginning and advanced bands on stage.)
Concert
Dec. 13th - 2:30 matinee for the students, 6:30 for parents.
*Band members need to check in and set up for the evening concert
at Southmoor at 6:00 p.m. wearing concert dress (black and white.)
